Influenced early on by a father in physics and a mother in nursing, I developed a deep fascination for how intricate and minute details make up the efficient, well-organized whole. Through in-depth study, I learned, for example, how the anatomy of an eyeball beautifully reflects light. Thus, captivating eyes bring life to each of my paintings and provide a connection between subject and viewer.
As an artist I choose to raise awareness about endangered species to help positively affect attitudes towards animals and conservation. My passion is representing the species that get little public attention because they simply aren’t big and/or popular. These “less romantic” species need a voice and I am honored to have my paintings speak for them.
