For years I ran a successful graphic design business. My job was to make my clients look good. It wasn’t until a stint as a magazine art director, working with numerous illustrators, that my true calling surfaced. And once that illustration bug hit, there was no looking back! My job now, in fine art, is to make my clients feel good. I am drawn to the light, spontaneous feel of watercolor and ink. I call my latest efforts “Hawaiian Mandalas,” where island images combine in kaleidoscope-like symmetry. I invite you to stop by thorntonarts.com, where you can peek into my brain (the horror!), peruse some art (abstracts! hula girls! geckos!), and explore my imaginative fiction (Spacetime Connibulators? Yup!). As for the source of my inspiration…you might as well ask where I DON’T find it! It’s on the street corners, at the market, in the garden, and in the sunset. It’s everywhere.
