I create paintings using traditional oils on canvas. I paint from photographs I have taken at places I have been. I use the photo as a reference to my memory. Dramatic skies filled with intense color, rolling hills down to rippling seas, and all nature’s beautiful variations are primary components of my work. I strive to create a visual memory of place and moment.
Since I was a child growing up in Puna, nature and art have always been a part of my life. I have been oil painting for over 20 years. I graduated in 1998 with dual degrees from Tufts University in Medford, Massachusetts and The School of the Museum of Fine Arts Boston, Massachusetts.
I live in Hilo, Hawaii with my woodworker husband, two cats, and a dog named Po.
