Hoku Lewa was founded by Rachel Pierson in her studio in Kea’au, Hawai’i. She creates original, hand casted resin jewelry using both natural materials and painted elements to make small wearable dioramas. Natural materials used include sand, seashells, meteorites, natural fibers, flowers, and stone. The resin used both preserves these objects and transforms them. The resin allows seashells and sand to keep their just-out-of-the-ocean look, and suspends meteorites in space.
